Asahel Nettleton

Asahel Nettleton was a key figure in the Second Great Awakening. His methods in evangelism followed closely those used by Jonathan Edwards. He opposed the "New Measures" introduced by Charles Finney and rightly warned of the consequences of adopting them. Many of the sermons in the volume Asahel Nettleton: Sermons from the Second Great Awakening have been taken from the handwritten manuscripts of Nettleton.
